Wat Thai Washington, D.C., would like to invite all Members and Friends to celebrate International New Year 2016 in the Buddhist tradition. Thais often perform many auspicious ceremonies on this day. The day also presents an opportunity to pay respect to parents, relatives, teachers, and others.

10:00 p.m. Walking – sitting meditation in the Buddha Hall.
12:00 a.m. New Year’s celebration, with a blessing by the Venerable Monks.
Reception of holy water from the Venerable Abbot, Luang Ta Chi,
for good luck.

9:30 a.m. Monks and lay people gather in the Buddha Hall.
10:00 a.m. Religious ceremony.
10:15 a.m. Dhamma Talk by the Venerable Abbot, Luang Ta Chi
10:30 a.m. Offering of food
11:00 a.m. Lunch served to the Venerable Monks. Thai music performance.
11:30 a.m. Lunch served to the congregation.
